Amisha was born into a Gujarati family and raised in Dar-Es-Salam. She has traversed various countries and regions before getting married in 2011 and making Kansas her home. She has completed her MBA from Birmingham University (London) and is a CPA by profession. Amisha’s upbringing in a family with strong Spiritual values has shaped her outlook towards community service. She is deeply passionate about fostering cultural understanding and preserving traditional values, aiming to empower the next generation. With the same passion for community service, she is currently educating kids from the community on topics related to Jainism and its importance. She is a proud mother of 3 kids and loves to travel the world.
Sonia, originally from Haryana, India, has traversed various regions, including Bhopal and Delhi before making her home in the USA in 2007. With a passion for travel and a fervent enthusiasm for diverse cultures, she has accumulated a wealth of experiences. Currently, as an assistant professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Saint Mary Leavenworth, Sonia's innovative teaching methods and research endeavors have earned her numerous awards. Sonia, a devoted mother of two boys, cherishes spending quality time with her family. Committed to community service, she actively participates in numerous voluntary organizations, such as the India Association of Kansas City, MUFFIN and Inspire Swades. She is deeply passionate about fostering cultural understanding and preserving traditional values, aiming to empower the next generation. As a founder and Board of Trustee of Sri Ganesha Temple of Kansas, Sonia brings her extensive experience and unwavering commitment to our mission of serving and enriching the Kansas City community.
Deepak, originally from Delhi, India, embarked on his American journey with his wife Reena in 1998, aiming to pursue a career in the technology sector. A computer science graduate from Delhi University, he furthered his education with a master’s degree in business from Ottawa, KS.
Having navigated various regions of the United States, Deepak ultimately found Overland Park to be the ideal setting to establish roots and raise his family since 2007.
Deepak's upbringing in a family deeply rooted in values of generosity and bringing community together has shaped his outlook. He is dedicated to nurturing a sense of unity among fellow Indians and celebrating their rich cultural heritage. Whether through his involvement at HTCC or as a founding member of the Agarwal Association of Kansas City (AAKC), Deepak is committed to uniting individuals from diverse backgrounds under the banner of Indian culture.
Originally from the combined Telugu state of Andhra Pradesh, Kiran has migrated to Chicago in 1993. Since he moved to Kansas City area in 1997, with passion for community service, he has contributed to the growth of several community organizations and participated in several volunteer and charity events, including HTCC of Kansas City, TAGKC, KCTCA, and Chinmaya Mission, Cancer Society of America, among others. His life goals include encouraging and empowering 2nd generation of Indian-Americans to embrace and internalize the rich Hindu culture, heritage, principals and values which have helped many live gratifying lives and remain relevant for the Generation Alpha.
Hailing from Kashmir, India, and a technology leader by profession, Shashi Bhat has dedicated over two decades to serving the Indian and Hindu communities in the Greater Kansas City area. With a fervent commitment to upholding and propagating the principles and teachings of Hinduism, Shashi and his wife Dimpika actively volunteer with various community organizations, including HTCC of KC, Kashmiri Overseas Association (KOA), Habitat for Humanity, and Harvesters.
Shradha Khard, born in Madhya Pradesh, India, to a family with strong spiritual values. While working as a software engineer, Shradha finds immense joy in fostering a collaborative community environment. Currently, she serves as the Board of Trustee and Secretary at Sri Ganesha Temple of Kansas. Shradha's main aim is to contribute to community unity and create a welcoming, collaborative space. She aspires to connect with others, especially children, to build a supportive network where everyone can reach out to each other in times of need. In her personal time, Shradha loves to travel, meet friends, and spend time with her family, finding happiness in life's simple pleasures. Living in the Kansas City area for over 13 years alongside her husband, Sachin Reja, and their two daughters, Shradha looks forward to continuing her journey of community engagement and service.
Raj originally comes from Bangalore, Karnataka. He arrived in Chattanooga, TN, in 1996 for university studies and later relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, in 2000 to work at Cerner. For over 13 years, Raj and his wife, Vidya, resided in the northland before moving to Overland Park, KS, in 2013. Raj has consistently advocated for establishing a Hindu place of worship to support the growing Indian community in KC. His recent focus has been on empowering the underrepresented population in inner Kansas City by fostering their technical skills, a commitment he upholds through his involvement with local workforce centers. Additionally, Raj volunteers his time to nurture the next generation of young entrepreneurs. His strong belief in Hindu Dharma underscores his conviction that the path to connecting with the divine involves serving others, viewing service to humanity as a direct form of devotion.
Saji has been living in Overland park, Kansas for over 23 years working as an IT professional. Originally from Kerala, India, but lived most of his school age in Bhilai, Chattisgarh. He has been very active in the local community by being part of IAKC, KAKC and Hindu Temple of Kansas City. He and his wife Bindu believe in nurturing future generations by imparting knowledge about Hindu culture and traditions, recognizing the invaluable role these teachings play in shaping their life. Being founder of Sri Ganesha temple of Kansas gives a profound joy in providing our devotees with a place of worship closer to the Indian diaspora.
Ajay Parsai is a loving father who has always taught his children about the importance of spirituality and service. He was born in Chattisgarh, India and currently resides in Lenexa, KS where he works as an IT professional. Ajay has worked with various religious organizations as Sevak & leadership role. As he continues his journey of devotion, he hopes to utilize his experience to allow the “SGTK” to thrive as a place of not only for worship, but also community engagement where people can gather for support, service, and spiritual growth.
