Our founders, hailing from different parts of India and bringing diverse cultural backgrounds, have united with a common purpose. They work tirelessly every day to ensure that the Sri Ganesha Temple of Kansas remains a welcoming and inclusive place for everyone. Each founder has dedicated their valuable time and financial resources to transform this divine vision into reality.
Deepak and Reena, a couple married for over 25 years, have been residents of Overland Park, Kansas since 2007. Their journey together in the United States began in 1998, where they explored various parts of the country.
Deepak is an accomplished IT professional, contributing his skills to a Med Tech device company. Reena's passion for community service led her to work as SPED Paraeducator. She also shares her love for art with young minds. They are proud parents of two children, Akshat and Ekansh, and a delightful puppy named Louie. Akshat is studying medicine, and Ekansh is pursuing a degree in computer science.
With unwavering dedication to service and deeply ingrained values from their Sanatan Dharma, Reena and Deepak are excited to embark on the journey of establishing a Sri Ganesha temple in Overland Park, KS. Their commitment to their faith and community drives their vision to create a sacred space where Sanatan Dharma and Hindu traditions can thrive in the heart of the Midwest.
Shashi, a native of Kashmir, India, and Dimpika, who grew up in Jaipur, India, have been residing in the Kansas City area with their children, Pumposh and Ankush, since 2001.
Both Shashi and Dimpika have backgrounds in Information Technology and work as technology professionals at CST Industries and Commerce Bank, respectively. Their children, Pumposh and Ankush, graduated from KU and USC and are now working and living in New York City.
Born into traditional Kashmiri pandit families, Shashi and Dimpika, along with their children, have always adhered to the values and teachings of Sanatan Dharam. They are deeply inspired by the principle of giving back to the community and are passionately committed to their mission of creating a space where the entire community can find inner peace.

Originally from Haryana, India, Saurabh and Sonia Rawal moved to Overland Park, KS in 2007 and have since built a balanced and culturally rich life with their two sons, Atharv and Samarth. Saurabh is a dedicated professional in the field of telecom and sports innovation sector utilizing his expertise to incorporate cutting edge technologies. Dr. Sonia Rawal, an accomplished academic with a PhD from KU, is an assistant professor specializing in neuro-rehabilitation, where she passionately advances both research and education. Atharv and Samarth are progressing through their school journey, while enthusiastically participating in various sports activities.
Deeply connected to their Hindu culture and guided by the principles of Sanatan Dharma, Sonia and Saurabh are committed not only to passing down these values to their children but also aspire to cultivate an environment where the younger generations across the Hindu community uphold their traditional cultural heritage and values.
